Robert Pattinson is to star in a new movie opposite British actress Carey Mulligan, playing the role of a lover of a money-hungry woman, who launches a plot to kidnap and bury a rich man alive to try and secure a ransom, according to reports.
The 26-year-old already has a number of movie projects in the pipeline, despite his last instalment of ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II’ not even having hit the cinemas yet, but now Rob has got himself a new role in ‘Hold On To Me’, reports Deadline.
The new movie is reportedly based on a true story, and has Oscar-winning director James Marsh at the helm.
‘Hold On To Me’ will tell the story of an ambitious woman, who hatches a plan to kidnap the richest man in their town to secure a ransom payout.
The couple end up burying the man alive in a box, but their play goes horribly wrong. It’s thought that Rob will play Jimmy, who is not directly involved in what ends up being a murder. While ‘Never Let Me Go’ star Carey, is likely to play the femme fatale.
According to the reports, Alexandra Milchan, Steven Rales, Mark Roybal, Michael Pruss and Todd Field will be the movie’s producers, with the script being written by Brad Ingelsby.
Sounds like Rob has a lot on his plate, what with getting back with Kristen Stewart, and his three other new movies that are in pre-production. He's also got new movies 'Mission: Blacklist', 'Queen of the Desert' and 'The Rover' all slated for release in 2013.
Check out Rob hanging out in NYC earlier this month...
