Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's stint in rehab is ‘no joke’ according to Warner Bros chairman Rob Cavallo, and it is ‘likely’ the star will spend Christmas in rehab.
Billie Joe, 40 checked into rehab last month after a very public meltdown on stage during the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, where he smashed his guitar and lost his cool after his band set was cut short.
According to Rolling Stone magazine Billie, is “under medical supervision for a while to get him clean.”
As a result of Billie’s time in rehab, many of the bands concert dates have be cancelled.
The band, who have been together since 1989, have already cancelled an appearance at the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in New Orleans along with many other tour dates.
Rob Cavallo said: “his doctors are still evaluating. All I can say is, I don’t know if we’ll see him before or after Christmas. IT’s basically undetermined when he will be back.”
