The 2012 MTV EMA's may have yet to take place but One Direction have already picked up one of the biggest gongs of the awards.
The One Direction lads have been named the Best UK/ Ireland Act of the 2012 MTV EMA, having received the most votes from fans.
"We're so happy and incredibly honoured to have won this. Once again our amazing fans have done us proud - thanks so much as always to you all!"said Louis Tomlinson.
The ceremony will be hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum live from Frankfurt in Germany on Sunday November 11.
This year's MTV EMAs is set to be the best yet with the likes of Taylor Swift, No Doubt and Muse confirmed to perform at the event.
Speaking about performing at the event, Taylor Swift said, ''I’ve always wanted to go to the EMA, because you hear about the spectacle of it, and how everyone just goes all out for their performances. To be nominated for five EMAs was the most exciting feeling, and I was absolutely blown away. I can’t wait to be there this year and perform on the show!''

Rihanna and Taylor Swift are among the big runners in this year's MTV Europe Music Awards 2012 nominations along with the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.
The 'Talk That Talk' picked up a total of six nominations in the announcement including Best Female, Best Pop Act and Best Look.
Her collaboration with Calvin Harris for track 'We Found Love' also picked up nods for Best Song and Best Video.

Despite getting beat by One Direction at the MTV VMAs earlier this month, Justin Bieber is up for four awards at the MTV EMAs for Best Male, Best Pop Act, Best World Stage and Biggest Fans for his 'Beliebers'.
