Jahmene Douglas is desperate to use his new-found fame to make a difference after it was revealed that his rapist dad was jailed for beating his mum, according to The Sun.
It was revealed in the tabloid newspaper that the 21-year-old's father, Eustace Douglas, was sentenced to nine years in prison for GBH in 2003 after attacking Mandy Thomas. His parents had been together 18 years and it has been revealed that the assault took place at the family’s home in Bath, Somerset, when petrified Jahmene was just 11.
Eustace also admitted raping a woman and got a further sentence of six years. Jahmene and his mother have since had no contact with Eustace and do not even know if he has been released.
Friends also told the tabloid newspaper that his father's overbearing character had an affect on his childhood, making Jahmene timid and shy. One said: “His dad was a nasty piece of work and terrorised the family. It’s no wonder Jahmene is shy and has had confidence issues.”

“I’m still here and happy. Don’t let anyone take your happiness.”
He advised victims of abuse: “Only you know what’s best for you and your family but speak out and reach out.”
The humble contestant tweeted this morning: "So thankful right now to be where I am :-) it is such a blessing and I can't take it for granted. Thanks for keeping me in last week ! <3"
