Should Simon Cowell be worried? Justin Bieber showed he had a tough side when it came to judging talent during his appearance on the X Factor USA last night after agreeing to help judge L.A. Reid make the decision over who to send through to the live finals.
Despite only being 18 years-old, Justin took his place next to L.A. and his manager Scooter Braun as hopefuls in the Overs' category performed. Speaking to the category before they performed, the Mail Online reported the 'Baby' star saying:
"You guys have this platform to do so much. You have to give it your all."
As the first hopeful performed, Justin appeared to show his critical side. Responding to L.A's comment that hopeful Jason Brock had "strong vocals", Justin said:
"But it's not only about that."
However, JB was left suitably impressed by David Correy, telling Reid: "I thought he was great. He could go far." As the hopefuls continued to audition, the compliments from Justin began to flow as he said of Daryl Black's performance:
"It was powerful, he brought it down."
As the hopefuls continued to perform and Justin and Scooter shared their thoughts, it was then time for L.A. to make his decision. Having admitted to not being happy with his category, the judge appeared to have a change of heart.
Speaking after his judges' house stage had ended, L.A. said: "After hearing the contestants I'm having a change of heart. It's much tougher than I ever imagined."
Despite appearing happy to help out L.A., Justin appeared frustrated earlier this week after he claimed that he was just used for ratings. He tweeted: "Heard we got used for ratings according to twitter and we aren't even on until tomorrow (sic)? @xfactorusa could of just told us."
