Agyness Deyn is moving on from being a model, breaking into the world of acting with her latest role in 'Pusher'.
But like any actress she's had to make sacrifices, and as her part was as a stripper, that meant learning the ropes of an industry the catwalk model was a little naive about.
The star, whose character Flo is the girlfriend of the film's main charcter Frank (Richard Coyle), had to enlist some help from London's exotic dancer community to be able to perform on screen.
Deyn told The Telegraph: “Jen is a stripper on the London scene and she walked me through her job and taught me all those moves you see in the film.”
However it wasn't as effortless as it all appears in the movie, and Deyn readily admitted that it left her hurting.
She was also thought of as a bit of an innocent by the other strippers, despite being a superstar in an industry not known for its softness itself.
Deyn said: “It left me with a few bruises. And what she does is acting too, to get on stage and perform as that character in front of an audience. Her friends backstage all thought I was some kind of innocent. They nicknamed me ‘Bambi’.”
The actress seems to have learnt well though, as for Deyn's performance at least reviews have been strong, not that she's read any, saying: " “My mum started to read one out about the play while she was here, and I was like ‘Mum, stop!’ I was worried it would change the way I was performing it. But my mum’s been very supportive.”
