Police in Los Angeles have said the photographers were not to blame for the accident that left Lindsay Lohan in hospital with minor injuries.

The bottle blonde and her friend were involved in a collision on Tuesday that was caused by a van illegally turning.

An eye witness had said that Lohan was attempting to avoid photographers when the accident occurred.

However, a police spokesman said that paparazzi involvement had been "ruled out".

He said: "It appears it's the van's fault for making an illegal U-turn."

This crash follows another that occurred in June when a photographer was involved and Lohan was once again left with minor injuries.

The photographer in question Galo Cesar Ramirez was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly drove his car into Lohan�s vehicle.
