Whitney Houston's only daughter, 19 year-old Bobbi Kristina has reportedly become engaged to her adopted brother turned boyfriend Nick Gordon, with the couple announcing their intention to get married on new reality TV show The Houstons: On Our Own.
Rumours of an engagement have been rife for months, but clearly they wanted to keep the shock news a surprise for their TV show, set to air in the US later this month.
According to E! News, a sneak peek promo of the A&E Network show reveals the moment the happy couple tell Bobbi's family about the engagement, with the teenager nervously saying: "We're engaged!"
Her uncle, Gary Houston reportedly doesn't react well: “No one knew that from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend. No one knew that.”
Nick was taken in by Whitney when he was just 10 and while never formally adopted, lived as a son of the star and brother to Bobbi Kristina until the star's death earlier this year. The multi-award winning singer was found dead in her hotel room in February following accidental drowning complicated by heart disease and cocaine use.
Soon after Bobbi, who is reportedly estranged from father Bobby Brown, took their secret romance public, which is believed to have started before the star's death, to the objection of her family.
In the clip Gordon, who has had run-ins with the police, can be heard saying: “The family has me out to be a bad person.”
With Bobbi, Whitney's heir, claiming: “They want to see us fail. We won't.”

Nick has since tweeted a picture of the sapphire ring, reported to be the engagement ring, which appears to be an exact replica of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's engagement ring, originally belonging to her mother in law the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
