Taylor Swift claims that she only has two British friends, Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding, despite rumours that she was meant to have a date with one of the One Direction lads this weekend.
The singer was in the UK for a number of reasons last week, mainly for her appearance on The Johnathan Ross Show alongside Ellie Goulding and performance at the Radio One Teen Awards, and during her visit she stopped by Radio 1 to speak to Nick Grimshaw, where she revealed that she’s got an obsession with the Brit singer.
“I have two British friends,” she said. “Ed Sheeran is one of my friends and I met Ellie Goulding and she’s the coolest girl. I’ve been obsessed with her records for a really long time.”
Taylor continued: "I felt a little fan girl-ish because I was quoting lines from her songs and I was like, 'Where did you come up with that? What's the meaning behind that?' She was physically weirded out. I know all the words to her new song."
It was reported earlier this week that Taylor was meant to be meeting one of the One Direction lads for dinner on Sunday night before she flew back to the US.
The singer reportedly organised the meal at her hotel in Luton, but cancelled it at the last minute.
