With the news that Girls Aloud would be reforming, it was then reported that the girls would do it by performing on hit BBC talent show Strictly Come Dancing. A move that has been reported to be revenge on Simon Cowell.
According to the Daily Star, Cheryl decided to snub the media mogul's offer of having the girlband who have been on a hiatus since 2009, perform together again on the X Factor, instead choosing to perform on Strictly Come Dancing.
Of the alleged snub, an insider was quoted by the publication as saying: "Simon was hoping for a happy birthday yesterday (Sunday October 7) but all he got was bad news.”
Or Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding Nadine Coyle and Kimbeley Walsh could all be reuniting on Strictly because Kimberley is currently a contestant on the show this year...Just a thought.
Whether or not Cheryl decided to take revenge on Simon by snubbing his offer, it's fair to say that the pair's friendship was tested when the media mogul decided to axe Cheryl from the X Factor USA.
Speaking candidly about Simon in her autobiography, Cheryl wrote: "I can't get over the fact that 'big man' Simon, the same guy that told me I had the job... couldn't tell me I didn't have the job!"
"The coward didn't even have the guts to phone or send a message warning me what was coming," she added.
"I wrote the longest text ever. I apologise about the bad language, but this is how he made me feel. 'F**k you. F**k Britain's Got Talent. F**k the orange and purple outfit. F**k big hair. F**k the UK X Factor. F**k you all. I hate you. I understand you're a businessman, and what I've learned from this is that business means more to you than friendship."
"I'm sad it's got like this and I wish you the best of luck, but count me out"
