You might think the in-laws are going to be the last on your party invite list, let alone ex in-laws, but that’s exactly who Russell Brand is reportedly planning to invite to his bash, according to reports.
The British comedian has allegedly sent out invites to his ex-wife Katy Perry’s parents, Mary and Keith Hudson, to see if they want to help him celebrate 10 years without booze.
Russell, 37, is still in contact with his ex-wife’s parents, with regular calls from Katy's dad Keith.
“Russell plans to celebrate with all the people who have helped him over the years,” a source told the Daily Star.
“His guest list will include people at the recovery centre he attended in London, close friends, family , and Katy’s parents Keith and Mary Hudson.
“They were really good to Russell during his marriage to their daughter, even when things got messy towards the end.”
The insider also added: “Keith still rings Russell every few weeks to check up on him.” Russell is so keen to have all his bestest pals, and most supportive friends around him that he’s allegedly even keen to splash out for the expenses.
“He’ll pay for everyone’s travel to the bash, which he wants to hold at his LA home , to make sure everyone can make it. He knows it will be a lot of organising because of the amount of people he’s inviting from the UK,” the insider continued.
“But Russell is never scared of a challenge and is determined to pull it off. It’s his way of saying thank you to everyone who helped him get where he is today.”
We’re guessing that Katy didn’t get an invite. Although she’s probably looking to drown her sorrows after a reported split from John Mayer.
