The X Factor was rocked by allegations that Sunday night's results show was a "fix" following producer Richard Holloway being spotted talking to Louis Walsh during Carolynne Poole's performance and Louis Walsh's dithering decision over who to send home.
However, the producer has now hit back at the claims, insisting that he "did nothing wrong" in talking to Louis during the show.
Despite an audience member tweeting that he heard Louis telling fellow X Factor judge Tulsa Contostavlos that he was told not to save Carolynne from elimination that night, Richard insisted that he did not tell Louis what to do.
According to The Sun, Richard said: "We never tell the judges what to do."
Admitting to being "peeved" over seeing the producer and Louis chatting during her performance, Carolynne revealed to us that she didn't think anything suspicious was going on.
Commenting on why he took so long to make a decision before deciding to go to deadlock, Louis said in a statement to us yesterday:
"I was torn. I think Rylan's a great entertainer and Carolynne's a great singer.
"I couldn't make up my mind. So, finally, I decided that the fairest thing to do was to go to the public vote and Rylan had more votes than Carolynne. It was sad but it was the fairest option."
