Kim Kardashian was all smiles when bf Kanye West presented her with a new pet cat last month, but it might all be an elaborate front as a source claims the telly star is simply using little Mercy to make her appear "more relatable".
Yes, the bizarre claim follows Kanye's gift to his lady, a kitty called Mercy that Kim claims Kanye gave her to keep her company. Writing on her official blog in September: "With me being in Miami, Kanye knew I would need some company when he wasn't around, so he surprised me with her."
Now though an insider claims that Kim shows no affection for super cute Mercy. The source talls Star magazine that Kim doesn't really have an affinity for the animal and took on the responsibility to score points with the public.
"Kim thinks a pet will make her more relatable,"
"She doesn't love Mercy at all."
The reality star is said to have no interest in taking part in raising Mercy. Hygiene freak Kim is rumoured to have put her employees in charge of looking after the cat: "The smell of the litter box repulses her, and she makes her assistant clean it," the insider said.
"And she gripes about cat hair-Kim will only cuddle Mercy for the cameras. She's too into herself to actually care for an animal."
Viewers will be able to see Kim and little Mercy's relationship for themselves as the cat is set to make an appearance in the new series of 'Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.'
