JK Rowling has nearly finished her new books for children, but sorry Harry Potter fans, these new stories are for children in a younger age group.
The author, who recently published her first adult novel The Casual Vacancy’ that received, mixed reviews, has said that she’s already got plans for her next release.
According to the Scottish Daily Record, the Edinburgh-based author has said: “I have lots of things on my laptop, including a couple of things for children – for a younger age group than Harry Potter was aimed at.
“They are nearly done and will, I think, be the next thing I publish.”
The 47-year-old also added: “I told my children about it and they really like it – that was encouraging.”
Rowling, who is estimated to be worth a whopping $1 billion, said that actually her proudest moments come from being asked to read an extract from JM Barrie’s Peter Pan at London’s Olympic ceremony this summer.
“I was terrified but it was extraordinary,” she said.
