It's been years since we heard any new music from Lily Cooper (née Lily Allen) but it sounds like we could be waiting a bit longer as the star has revealed in a new interview that she won't release anything until she's sure it's "amazing".

The singer confirmed earlier this year that she is coming out of retirement but has warned fans not to get too excited just yet.

"I'm just tinkering away," Lily revealed to NME magazine. "I'm not going to put anything out until I've got an end product which I think is amazing or, you know, good."

Her current pregnancy could also put a delay on things. Lily already has one child with hubby Sam Cooper, little Ethel Mary who celebrates her first birthday next month. Lily seemed to hint in the interview that fans will have to wait until after she gives birth to baby number two before her album release:

"I don't think there's going to be anything out in the next few months. But hopefully in the next year,"

Lily then explained. "[Will motherhood be factoring into songs?] Yeah. It definitely will."

The new material will be the first release from Lily since she cameoed on Professor Green's 2010 single 'Just Be Good To Green.' In June she tweeted that she was in the studio working with Greg Kurstin on new music.

Whilst it might be awhile until Lily's album, fans can look forward to hearing her vocals on Pink's new track "True Love"  which features on the singers new album The Truth About Love, released in September.
