A pair of swimming trunks worn by Daniel Craig in the James Bond film Casino Royale, have sold for £44,450 at an auction which marked 50 years of the spy films.

The swimwear and a Bond car were among a number of 007 items sold by Christie’s on Friday, marking half a century from the first Bond film, Dr No, in 1962.

An Aston Martin DBS driven by Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace went for £241,250.

All sale proceeds from the event went to charities, including Unicef and Childline.

A navy woollen suit that was worn by Craig in new film Skyfall was a popular piece at the auction. It was expected to raise between £2,000 and £3,000 but went for a staggering £46,850.

Daniel reprises his role as 007 in the spy's new film 'Skyfall'. The movie directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes hits cinemas later this month.

It seems that Mr Bond attire is popular!
