It's been a seriously stressful year for Katie Holmes, who divorced Tom Cruise in July, so it was nice to see her looking so relaxed and happy on Friday.
Katie was seen smiling as she emerged from a car outside her apartment building. The star looked chic in a simple ensemble of a white blouse and jeans, with her hair tyed back in a bun.
After the success of her line Holmes & Yang at New York Fashion Week, and her recent deal as the new face of beauty brand Bobbi Brown, it's no surprise the star is looking so happy.
However, while the actress seemed to be enjoying going solo, Tom Cruise has not been seen with their daughter Suri in over 2 months.
He was last spotted with his daughter at Disney World in early August.
The 50-year-old has been busy in London shooting 'All You Need Is Kill' and had previously been travelling between Iceland, Louisiana and New York to film action adventure 'Oblivion'.
"Suri is used to her dad being away filming and not spending every single day with him. She loves the daddy daughter time they get together," a source told RadarOnline.
Tom spends most of his time using Skype to chat to his daughter but is said to want to move to New York to be nearer the tot.
Meanwhile, court papers obtained by the National Enquirer reveal that the Katie and Tom's marriage had “broken down irretrievably for a period of at least six months immediately preceding.”
They also expose that despite their lavish Italian wedding in 2006, the pair were officially married in a civil ceremony in LA in November 2006. They also had a pre-nuptial agreement.
As for Suri, Tom must pay $400,000 a year to cover Suri’s “medical, dental, insurance, unreimbursed medical and dental, education, college, extracurricular and camp expenses.” This payment will continue until Suri turns 18 and in total will set Tom back an estimated $4.8 million.
