Video footage posted by TMZ showed Nicki and Mariah clashing with both of them reported to have used expletives against each other when they allegedly butted heads over a contestant who was auditioning for the 12th season of the show.
Insisting that Mariah will be continue to be great on American Idol despite their well publicised feud, E! News reports America's Got Talent presenter Nick as saying:

Calling the incident between the two stars "unfortunate", Nick added:
"A lot of times when you think about...why America loves these shows, it's all about people accomplishing and reaching their dreams and being guided by the experts. At times when we seem to lose our composure it's kinda disappointing, but we move on and hopefully [the conflict] isn't what the show becomes about."
"My wife's not moved by the theatrics or pageantry," he said. "She's just there to do her job and help young people on this show that we've all grown to love."
Keith Urban, who, along with Randy Jackson was seen trying to defuse the war of words between Nicki and Mariah, joked to Extra saying:
"I was the UN," before adding: "I love working with passionate people. I love artists. Everyone just sort of expressing themselves. It's a very alive and very invigorating work environment. A lot of passion."
