18 year old Courtney Stodden, who rose to fame by marrying 51 year old Green Mile actor Doug Hutchinson, has been slammed by her co-stars on new show Couple's Therapy.
It has been claimed that they did not appear because they had genuine trouble in their marriage, but to further their careers.
Celebrity blogger Nik Richie, who appeared on the show with his wife and former The Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas, has attacked the couple and accused Stodden of being "a creepy overtly sexual person" and a "fame w**re".
Speaking to The Daily Beast, Richie said that "Doug and Courtney were acting like they were in love and everything was perfect. Courtney was just a creepy overtly sexual person. She wouldn’t open up and that’s what bothered a lot of us."
Trying to explain her motivation for appearing on the show, he continued: "Obviously there’s something there. Why does this person crave so much attention? Why is this person so sexual at 17? Why is she wearing stripper clothes?"
"I personally think they were there for the wrong reasons. They want to be famous and they’re getting the most out of it."
He added that this made it very difficult to open up during the show: "'Showing your deepest, darkest times in life with Courtney Stodden sitting there twiddling her f***ing thumbs, it was a definitely a challenging time in the first week."
Couples Therapy will air on VH1 on Wednesday. Other celebrities involved include Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen of Real Housewives of New York, and Joel 'JoJo' Hailey of K-Ci & JoJo and his wife, Tashaunda.
