Taylor Swift has hit out at John Mayer and said he is “presumptuous” after he thought that the song ‘Dear John’ was about him.
The pair briefly dated in 2009 and her 2010 album Speak Now features a song entitled ‘Dear John’ adding to speculation that the song was about their relationship.
In an interview with Glamour magazine, the 22-year-old singer said: “How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.
“It's not that I'm this egomaniac and I don't want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check. But I've never developed that thick a skin.
“So I just kind of live a life, and I let all the gossip live somewhere else. If you go too far down the rabbit hole of what people think about you, it can change everything about who you are.”
John spoke out to Rolling Stone magazine in June, saying that the song was “cheap” and “humiliating.”
The 'We Are Never Getting Back Together' singer is now dating Conor Kennedy, son of Robert Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy. But the star prefers to keep her relationship private. She added: “I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail.”
What drama over a song! We don’t think the pair will ever be getting back together, like ever.
