Seth Macfarlane has been announced as the host of next year's Academy Awards.
The Family Guy and 'Ted' funnyman will follow in the footsteps of this year's presenter Billy Crystal when the Oscars return next Spring.
He said in a statement: “It’s truly an overwhelming privilege to be asked to host the Oscars. My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors; and two, I hope they don’t find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast.”

The 85th Academy Awards will be telecast live on February 24, 2013.
