The world is still in shock after a series of topless pictures of Kate Middleton were published in the French version of Closer magazine, and now a palace insider has alleged that the Duchess of Cambridge is still mortified.
Our future King's wife Kate reportedly "wont stop beating herself up" about her topless photo scandal.
The French Closer ran images of the Duchess of Cambridge in nothing but a pair of bikini bottoms earlier this month, after a photographer spied on the Royal couple with a long-lens camera. Kate and Will believed themselves to be in complete privacy as they lounged by a private pool.
The news story has taken its toll on the couple, who have since started legal proceedings against the publication. Kate is said to be devastated and will not stop blaming herself:
"She won't stop beating herself up," a palace insider revealed to the American edition of OK! Magazine.
Luckily, it sounds as though her new husband is supportive as ever. The insider went on:
"Will has told her it's not her fault."
Kate is reportedly determined to prevent anything like this happening again:
"She thinks she can never let her guard down again. She has vowed this will be her last scandal." the source shared. We're not surprised!
The insider went on to stress that Kate has always taken great care to avoid any bad publicity, even telling her friends explicitly what they can and cannot do in front of the cameras:
"Kate is mortified. Since she and William met, she's constantly been on guard against embarrassment," the source shared.
"When they used to go away with William's friends, Kate would lecture everyone on what not to do in case there were photographers."
We've followed the couple's every move on their recent trip to Asia. Kate looked amazing throughout!
