Mike Myers To Play Keith Moon

Austin Powers aka Mike Myers is to star as Keith Moon in a new film about his life.

Moon, who drummed for The Who was considered one of the wildest men in rock; he died of an overdose of prescription drugs in 1978, he was 32.

Roger Daltrey of The Who is producing the untitled film with Nigel Sinclair for Spitfire Pictures according to Variety magazine.

Myers reportedly became interested in the role a few years ago but was too busy to sign up; he met with Daltrey in 2002 who approved him for the role. 

Daltrey and Sinclair have been working on the project for the last 10 years; the film is now being fast tracked and Spitfire are looking to recruit a director.
