Sofia Vergara 'Almost Had A Heart Attack' Over Emmys Butt Tear

But the actress laughs at it now

She was probably the sexiest star to grace the red carpet at the recent Emmy Awards in her Zuhair Murad fishtail gown which showed off her hourglass figure, but Sofia Vergara endured a terrible wardrobe malfunction when the dress ripped on the derriere.

The high-end designer gown, made for a voluptuous bod, couldn't contain the actress' killer curves as it tore on the behind just 20 minutes before her hit TV show Modern Family won a gong and Sofia having to retrieve it on stage.

The actress appeared to have taken the mishap fairly light-heartedly after tweeting a snap of her bare bum to her Twitter followers after she burst out of the gown, but Sofia revealed that she ''almost had a heart attack'' following the travesty.

Sofia posted a picture showing how the broken back zipper revealed the top of her rear.

She told People magazine: "The picture was taken by my boyfriend [Nick Loeb] to tell me how bad [the split] was, because I wouldn't understand how bad it was and I kept walking all over the event.''

''So he was like, 'You have to stop! Let me show you what is going on in the back [of your dress],'' she added.

"I almost had a heart attack. And then I wanted to get it fixed very fast because I wanted to be part of the celebration of receiving [Modern Family's outstanding comedy series] Emmy on stage,'' she continued.

Luckily, Sofia can now see light of the situation, but still doesn't know why the dress teared. We could probably guess that one.

''It was like a funny joke,'' she said. ''We were laughing at it.'' So were we!
