Now viewers of Gene Simmons Family Jewels reality show aren’t the only ones who got a chance to hear the KISS rocker’s daughter’s voice.
On this season of X Factor, the famous guitarist’s daughter Sophie Tweed Simmons, 19, auditioned for the music reality competition and did not disappoint.
The hopeful singer made her appearance on the show Wednesday, alongside her famous parents and told judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid that she hadn’t told Simmons and Shannon Tweed until the day before the audition.
"They're pretty upset with me," Sophie said. "I just didn't want any help."
The teenager then went on to give her own rendition of Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love,’ which was a performance that left Demi and L.A. wanting to hear more.
But the typically hard-to-impress Cowell and Britney enjoyed her performance, while Cowell explained Sophie “took on this song” making it her own.
Even though L.A. Reid said no, Britney, Demi and Simon said yes, having her advance to the next round of competition.
"I grew up with music, but I didn't want my dad's help with it," Sophie said to cameras after advancing. "It's a big shadow. I really just want to step out from being the daughter of the guy from KISS. I want to be my own person, and hopefully this is a way to show the world who I am."
