Robbie Williams Leads Tributes To Singer Andy Williams

The singer passed away yesterday

Robbie Williams is among the stars who has paid tribute to singer Andy Williams, following his passing at the age of 84 yesterday (September 26).

Publicist, Paul Shefrin, confirmed to Sky News that the legendary singer died at home following a year-long battle with bladder cancer.

Williams, known for the classic 'Moon River' which featured in the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's, had returned home to his family after doctors could no longer treat the singer back in July.

In a message on his Twitter page, Robbie wrote: "God bless Andy Williams. RW x."

TV host Larry King said: ''Andy Williams had a voice like no other - I enjoyed him so much from the days I used to play his records as a disc jockey #RIP''

Williams revealed his cancer battle during a show at the Moon River Theater in Branson last December .

He told the audience: “I do have cancer of the bladder. But that is no longer a death sentence. People with cancer are getting through this thing.”

Andy continued: “They’re kicking it, and they’re winning more and more every year. And I’m going to be one of them.”
