Perhaps they knew it right from the beginning they weren't right for each other.
Russell Brand spoke again about his high-profile divorce from Katy Perry in a new interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes, giving the simple reason why their marriage failed.

"Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don't," Brand, 37, said of his union with the Wide Awake singer, 27. “But if you sort of sense there's an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways."
The now-divorce Brand is now confidant two people must have interests in common before committing themselves in a marriage.
"I think if you're someone who's really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone who's into mountain biking, and if you're really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who's into Eastern mysticism," Brand explained. "I think if you're a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble. I've been in a lot of trouble."
Brand and Perry tied the knot on Oct. 23, 2010 in India after a year-long whirlwind romance.
But he filed for divorce on December of 2011, citing "irreconcilable differences” and their divorce was finalized on July 16.
