New American Idol judge Nicki Minaj has dismissed the reports that she doesn't get on with fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey by revealing that she used to look up to the star when she was younger.
Shortly after it was announced that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban had joined Mariah and Randy on the panel, reports started to suggest that the ladies of the panel failed to get on with Mariah allegedly butting in when Nicki was speaking.
However, it appears that all is well between the two stars after Nicki told Access Hollywood:
"Mariah's a legend and I just want to say that… I'm sitting next to a woman who I've looked up to since I can remember enjoying music. My mother and I bonded to Mariah and I told her that, before even American Idol."

Claiming that she and Mariah both have "respect" for each other, the 'Your Love' singer added:
"Ultimately, there's respect there and I think if nothing else, it'll make for really great TV", before she noted how much fun she has been having on the hit reality TV show.
"It's fun. People are gonna laugh and people are gonna have a lot of fun… we just laugh ultimately at everything."
