Nick Grimshaw kicked off his very first Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning, with mixed reviews on Twitter on how exactly he did at stepping into the big shoes of Chris Moyles.
The 28-year-old admitted he wasn't exactly sure how he was going to be received as he kicked off the show at 6:30am this morning but he certainly brought out the big guns as he filled the first show with some of the hottest stars on the planet including Harry Styles, Justin Bieber and Doctor Who himself, Matt Smith.
Opening the show, Nick told the listeners: “I’m going to be with you for I don’t know how long really – until the country uprises and I get thrown back to the night-time.”
The notorious party animal, admitted he had been nervous about picking his first track so went for the odd choice of the Kanye West, Jay Z collab 'Paris'.
“Everyone was making a big deal of the first song, but I was like ‘is it that big a deal?’ The job’s a big deal,” he explained. “That song is what I want this show to be like, music wise – pop, but good pop.”
Well, it looks like his mix of “good pop” and A-list guests went down well with Twitter fans eagerly tweeting their support and getting #teamgrimmers trending worldwide.

Another, @rosyriley added: "@grimmers is smashing it already!! I love mornings now!,,,l, #teamgrimmers"
Celeb mate, Niall Horan also threw his support behind Grimmers, tweeting: "Go on grimmy! great show dude! @grimmers , love the way the robot calls him "grimey".
But others appeared to be missing Moyles with one Twitter users, even feeling sorry for the abuse, Nick was getting as #teammoyles started to compete on the social networking site.
He wrote: “teammoyles is trending. Poor @grimmers, give him a chance! After all it is his first day on @R1Breakfast. I liked CM show but #teamgrimmers."
Chris decided to stay quiet on the matter simply tweeting: "Morning".
But previous Breakfast Show presenter Simon Mayo praised Nick's first attempt saying: "Nick Grimshaw sounding a lot less terrified and a lot more organised than I did. In 1987."
With a One Direction member a guest every morning, we reckon Grimmers will do pretty well this week!
