We'd have thought after the furore surrounding Shia LaBeouf signing up to Lars von Trier's 'The Nymphomaniac', a film in which he may be asked to have sex for real, Hollywood stars would be giving the controversial director a wide berth.
The director however has had no trouble in getting another one of Hollywood's well regarded actors to join the film, as Christian Slater has signed up to join the movie.
Far from admitting any fear of working with the legendary cinematic bad boy, Slater was full of praise for von Trier, saying of the director that he was a "complete gentleman".

The actor told The Hollywood Reporter: "Lars is a complete gentleman. It's great to be on a set with someone who has such a loyal and talented team.
"The majority of his crew are people he has worked with over the past twenty years. They love him and I understand why. It's lovely as an actor to get opportunities a few times in your career to work on a truly special project with a director and leader who really understands his material and is able to convey what he wants so concisely."
Slater, who got his big break in another controversial movie, 'Heathers', joins the movie which is currently filming just outside Cologne, Germany.
It will be filmed in two versions, one hardcore and one softcore, with stars possibly having sex for real as they did in von Trier's 1998 film 'The Idiots'.
