Robbie Williams made his anticipated live return to the stage as a solo artist last night (September 11) as he performed the first date of his four-date UK tour in Leeds.
The singer, who has not been on a solo tour since 2006, was charismatic as ever in front of the 2,300 fans at Leeds Academy.
During the one-and-a-half hour set he told the crowd he is eager for his new single 'Candy' to get heavy airplay on the radio.
"That's my only hope," he said. "I hope, I hope it's played so much on the radio that you say, turn this off."
Though his new album, Take The Crown, is released in the coming weeks Williams only performed two tracks, 'Candy' and 'Losers', from it on the night.
Fans were treated to a greatest hit heavy set with such favourites as 'Angels', 'She's The One', 'Let Me Entertain You' and 'Rock DJ'.
Taking to Twitter after the show, fans were clearly impressed with Williams as they all tweeted about how amazing the show was.
One fan @ianyoung said: ''The ego has landed again. @robbiewilliams is doing solo comeback gig in Leeds. Hyperactive, compelling, needy, mischievous - good old Robbie''
While @quinlivan said: ''Saw @robbiewilliams at Leeds last night and how good was it!?''
Williams will now call at Glasgow, Barrowland tonight (12) and he will finally conclude on Southend Cliffs Pavilion South End On Sea (14).

However, Robbie Williams has confessed that he may have to miss the birth of his first child with his wife Ayda because of upcoming gigs - and unsurprisingly his Mrs isn't happy.
Whilst chatting to DJ Chris Evans on his radio show, Robbie - who's busy promoting his new single, "Candy" (listen to the tune here), admitted that Ayda's less than impressed that he's agreed to perform four gigs during the week when she's expected to go into labour.
He said that "I've had a bit of a falling out with the wife", and went on to explain that "I've got gigs this week, the baby could come at any minute."
"The wife has said, 'If I go into labour and you've got a gig in say Leeds or Dublin, you've got to cancel it and come home.'"
Robbie Williams will release his new album Take The Crown on November 5.
