Blake Lively may have gotten married just last night, but news travels very fast.
Her longtime ex and Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley was at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his new movie Greetings from Tim Buckley, when he was asked about Lively’s surprise South Carolina wedding to Ryan Reynolds.
"I actually didn't know until last night, but I think it's fantastic," Badgley, who’s currently dating Zoe Kravitz tells People. "I couldn't be happier for her."
Lively and Badgley – both 25 – took their on-screen romance to the off-screen as they became a real-life couple during the filming of their hit CW show in 2007, but went their separate ways in 2010.
Lively’s ex has nothing but love for her referring to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Reynolds as “pretty spot-on.”
"I'm so happy for her," Badgley said, who heard of their nuptials as everyone else by reading reports, and also by talking to "people who are close to her."
The heartthrob also added that Lively’s relationship with the 25-year-old Reynolds: “I think it’s everything that it should be.”
The sixth and final premiere of CW’s Gossip Girl will be on Oct. 8 with their premiere episode titled "Gone Maybe Gone."
