Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton enjoyed a low-key holiday to France last week, ahead of their Asia Pacific tour as part of the year of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
The royal couple will land in Singapore tomorrow, marking the beginning of an eight day tour set to take in Malaysia and the Solomon Islands. No doubt in need of some rest before a whirlwind week of functions and walkabouts William whisked Kate away from some quality time in private.
According to the Sunday Express the Queen's nephew, Viscount Linley leant the royal couple the Château d'Autet, a historic hunting lodge he owns in the Provence region of France.
Away from the cameras Kate and Wills were able to act like any other couple in love and according to the paper spent their time sun bathing and reading. No doubt they took advantage of the luxury château's tennis court and swimming pool as both are known to be keen sportsman.

The holiday may be the reason that the couple failed to make an appearance at last night's Paralympic Closing Ceremony. Kate had been to three of the opening and closing ceremonies so far at the London 2012 Games and as Team GB's sweetheart, she had been expected to attend. But no-one could blame her for wanting quality time with her husband and the romantic getaway could have been just what the couple needed.
After a busy summer and some family dramas thanks to Prince Harry, the couple are no doubt eager for a break. The romantic break may have even given the couple a chance to start a family. Prince William has made it clear that having a child is the couple's priority.
With the Diamond Jubilee, London 2012 Games and soon the royal tour behind them the couple have no other obstacles to consider. If in nine months a royal baby arrives you know where you heard it first!
