The 2012 London Olympics Comes To End With Team GB Victory Parade

More than 700 Paralympic and Olympic Athletes will parade through London

After a summer of sensational sport, the London 2012 Games finally came to an end last night at the Olympic Park in Stratford with Coldplay, Rihanna and Jay Z bringing the house down for the final time, six weeks after Danny Boyle's magnificent Olympic Opening Ceremony.

But it's not over yet as the members of Team GB's Olympic and Paralympic teams are set to bid farewell to the home games with a triumphant victory parade through central London today.

Due to kick off at 1.30pm at Mansion House in the City of London, 21 floats will travel to Buckingham Palace passing on their way some of Britain's best loved landmarks including Trafalgar Square and St Pauls Cathedral.

An array of athletes, that thanks to their sporting achievements have become household names over the summer will be there to show off their medals and thanks fans for their support.

Olympic Champions Greg Rutherford, Mo Farah, Sir Chris Hoy and Jessica Ennis will all be in attendance as will Paralympic heroes, fresh from last night's spectacular closing party Ellie Simmonds,David Weir and Sarah Storey.

In total more than 700 members of, what has been called Britain's 'greatest ever team' will celebrate the super summer of sport, with more than a million people expected to line the streets to join in the party.

School children, volunteers, military personnel and coaching staff will be amongst the 14,000 ticket holders that will line the Mall for the finale of the three and a half hour spectacle.
