In a coup that is sure to anger Simon Cowell, it's been alleged that Cheryl Cole is set to make her big return to 'The X Factor' , and it's all down to Gary Barlow!
The Sun are reporting that new head judge Gary has been formulating a secret plan to get Cheryl back on the ITV show. Chezza of course left the UK version to go to the US with Simon in the hopes of making it big on the American spin-off of Si's big bucks programme. That dream soon fizzled out when she was replaced after filming for just a few days.
Now, though sneaky Gary has been wooing his pop pal Cheryl in the hopes she'll return to the current series as his guest mentor in the Judges Houses stage.
According to a source on the show, Gary was keen to keep the news secret so as not to annoy his boss Simon, who still has a big hand in the show. The source tells The Sun:
"Only Gary’s intimate inner circle know. He hasn’t even discussed it with Simon or ITV bosses. It’s been seriously top secret stuff."
The rumours were that Gary was to be joined by hisTake That bandmate Robbie Williams for the second year in a row but apparently that was all just a big ruse!

"They’re all under the impression it’s going to be Robbie. No one even noticed the dates for the recording clashed with Robbie’s new solo tour."
Gary apparently got Cheryl to agree to the show as the two stars went for a night out following their duet at the Buckingham Palace concert he organised for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee earlier this summer.
Other guest mentors rumoured to be taking part this year include Ne-Yo who will join Nicole Scherzinger and the Boys during her trip to Dubai, and Tinie Tempah will team up with Tulisa and the Girls in the Caribbean. Louis Walsh, who is mentoring the Bands, will be joined by another ex-judge, Sharon Osbourne in Las Vegas.
We can't wait to see Cheryl back on the show!
