EL James Reveals Songs That She Writes Sex To

Like most women, EL James needs something to get her in the mood, and when she was writing Fifty Shades Of Grey, she turned to Black Eyed Peas for inspiration when it came to her sex scenes.

The best-selling novelist, who can count millions of women as her biggest fan thanks to the creation of the brooding Christian Grey, spoke at the launch of the Fifty Shades classical album this week and revealed that it wasn’t always just classical singles that got her inspired.

Fergie, Taboo, Apl.de.ap and will.i.am have all managed to get El James in the mood with their track ‘Sexy’, taken from their album Elephunk.

Talking at the launch that was held at Shoreditch House earlier this week, she said: “I have songs that I write sex to, one of them is Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Sexy’, and that is all I am prepared to tell you.”

If ‘Sexy’ is the best track, we dread to think what the others might be!

James, who spoke about which movie stars could play Christian Grey in the upcoming movie adaptation of her ‘bonkbuster’, also admitted it had been a “relief” that the books had been so well received as it meant that she wasn’t a “pervert”.

“I discovered writing after reading Twilight. I wrote these books for me, other people seem to share my fantasies too, so that’s kind of interesting. And also good to know that I’m not a pervert. Huge relief to find that out!” She said.

But for those of you who think that Mr EL James is the source of inspiration for Christian. You would be very wrong, as he sounds far from the sex god that one might have imagined.

After reading out an extract from the interview that her husband gave with The Guardian, in which he reveals that he bought James a tin opener for her first Christmas present, where he said ‘my earliest experiences of kinky sex was her trying to shove it up my arse.”

She told the audience at Shoreditch House: “Ladies, I mean come on – a tin opener – Jesus Christ on a bicycle. Yeah, right he never made that mistake again. Trust me.”
