Stateside viewers can't get enough of TLC's controversial Toddlers and Tiaras spin off Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. However, critics have expressed anxiety about the way the star of the show is cared for.
Honey Boo Boo's mother June has revealed that following an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras, the child protection authorities in Atlanta, Georgia, were alerted and investigated the family.
June was spotted feeding six year old Alana (who is known as Honey Boo Boo) a drink made by mixing Red Bull and high sugar drink Mountain Dew. The authorities were also concerned when they discovered a video of the child dancing on a bar.
June told People magazine "[the investigation] was the worst four days of my whole entire life." She explained that the bar dancing happened as part of "a meet and greet at a concert. But after I left, I realised I'm not gonna put Alana in that situation again because it was crazy."
