All you Doctor Who fans out there were shocked last night as Time Lord's new assistant Jenna-Louise Coleman made a shock new 'early' appearance in the first episode of the new series. And the hot actress was definitely looking the part, we have to say!
It's no surprise when the hero himself appears at unexpected times it seems. However, fans of the series were not expecting to see sexy new assistant, former Emmerdale star Jenna appear on our screens just yet.
The appearance came as the show showed off a ratings boost for the series opener with Asylum Of The Daleks, as 6.4 million viewers tuned in, which is more than the opening episode of the last series. Result.
The stunning 26 year old will replace Amy Pond and her hubby Rory, who announced their departure, played by Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, and will play the role of the Timelord's companion during this series. Exciting stuff!
However, fans aren't so sure whether the link between the character that Jenna played on Saturday night (September 1) and the part she will play as the doctor's assistant. Whereas at the weekend, the actress was playing the part of Oswin Oswald, a woman who'd been captured and 'converted' inside a dalek. Standard.
And there is already speculation about whether the two characters will be linked or are versions of the same person.
The actress sent a message to fans yesterday saying: ‘Boo! Hello! Hope we gave you a good surprise! Thanks to all the fans who kept it quiet and made it so! More to come...watch this space!”
