Fans of Jersey Shore will soon be saying 'see ya later' to the cast of Jersey Shore following the news that the show has been axed.
The cast, including Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi who has just given birth to her son Lorenzo, and Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino who is currently appearing in the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother, have filmed scenes for the hit MTV show as the network confirmed that the show will end after the new series starts on October 4.
Following the sad news that their services will no longer be needed, Snooki took to Twitter to write: "Yes, sadly it's true. This upcoming season of Jersey Shore will be our last. But it was fricken INSANE. I will always love my roomies!"
Also expressing his sadness at the show being axed, Pauly D tweeted: "I Must Say, Sad To See It Go , But Am So Blessed To Have Been Apart Of This !!!!#TeamDJPaulyD Lives On."
Thanking fans for their support during the show's broadcasting, Sammi added: "It's been one hell of a ride but this is just the beginning. Thank you all for your love & support throughout the seasons!! These memories will never be forgotten!!"
As a result of the show's popularity, Snooki and her best pal Jenni 'JWoww' Farley have been given their own spin-off show.
