After a few romance non-starters looks like Katy Perry has fallen for someone new but, oh dear it just so happens to be Hollywood heartthrob and wronged hunk Robert Pattinson, who is still locked in a messy 'will they won't they romance' with estranged girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
The 'Firework' star, who was recently dumped by John Mayer after a summer fling has been helping the actor and long time friend through his public relationship woes and after meeting last week for drinks realised she might want more.
While she is trying to be a good friend it seems Katy can't help wish it was her, not Kristen that Rob was hung up on.
“Katy would secretly love to land Rob, but she won’t admit it,” a source told Us Weekly.
“When they met, he was a sweet kid — awkward and shy. But he’s grown up a lot.”
Now he is single it seems Katy is re-thinking her first impression that Rob is just a “pretty face” and is hoping for more. The couple, who are both used to Hollywood heartache are close after years in the spotlight and unlike around most people, feel perfectly relaxed together.
A source told HollywoodLife: “They are close friends and can just be themselves when they are with each other.”
When Katy broke up with Russell Brand, Rob was there for her and set her up with his close friend, Florence and the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd. Now Rob is the single one, Katy might just date him herself!
But don't get too excited Katy, as Rob is said to be considering taking cheating girlfriend Kristen Stewart back.
The couple are said to have reconciled in an emotional phone call, the first time they had spoke since photos of Kristen cheating with married director Rupert Sanders were released. Rob reportedly admitted he still loved her but that things would have to change if they got back together.
