Fans of hit 90's film 'Beverly Hills Cop' will be excited to hear that the show could be making a comeback. However, it won't be available to watch at movie theatres because reports have suggested that the show is going to be appearing on TV.

According to Vulture, Eddie Murphy, who played Axel Foley in the 1984 hit is currently planning to turn the film into a TV programme alongside Shawn Ryan and Sony Pictures Television.

It is believed that the show will be pitched to broadcasting networks as quick as today.

The news of 'Beverly Hills Cop' being made into a TV programme has been a long time coming after Eddie, who will reportedly be making an appearance on the TV show, told Rolling Stone magazine of his plans in October.

He said: "What I'm trying to do now is produce a TV show starring Axel Foley's son, and Axel is the chief of police now in Detroit ... I'd do the pilot, show up here and there."

We can't wait! Can you?
