A report in a US gossip mag claiming Ryan Lochte has asked Will Ferrell to help him launch a Hollywood career has been denied.
Ryan, riding a wave of attention following his gold medal glory at the Olympics, is apparently hoping to be the next "king of comedy".
Speaking to Star, a tenuous 'insider' says: "After Ryan filmed sketches for Funny or Die, Will took him under his wing.
"[Ryan] wants to star in the next Anchorman or something like The Hangover."
Continuing to add that Ferrell has apparently "cautioned him against over-exposure2, the report also suggests that Lochte wants the Ron Burgundy funnyman to cast him in his next project.
"He's an attention wh*re," the source said of the swimmer. "He may as well cash in on it."
However, speaking to Gossip Cop, a far more reliable source has claimed the story is "absurd".
