It's been an embarrassing few days for the Royal family so no doubt Prince William was happy to leave his brother's scandal behind to enjoy a romantic break from Kate Middleton.
The royal couple are reportedly enjoying some R&R in Scotland, well away from the scandal of Prince Harry's naked Vegas antics. Wills and Kate apparently planned the trip to spend some much-needed one on one time together following their hectic schedule at the Olympics and before they embark on their Diamond Jubilee tour in September.
The loved-up pair are said to have chosen a favourite location in Scotland, returning to a secret hideaway they used during their student days at St Andrews University.
According to Now magazine the Duke and Duchess are staying on the Queen's private estate at Balomoral in a secluded cottage.
Royal watchers say the peaceful spot has huge significance to Kate and Prince William, who once spent a happy Hogmanay there before their engagement. The editor of Majesty magazine (yes that does exist!) says:
"They are both big romantics and like to return to the places that mean a lot to them,"
"I think William will have in mind a romantic night in one of the estate's more isolated cottages - that is the way they seem to like to spend their special moments."
Ingrid Sewell added: "One Hogmanay, William surprised Kate with a date in a fire-lit log cabin. She and William shared estate cottage Tam-na-Ghar during their breaks as students from St Andrews. It has been done-up very well - but there are several other 'favourite' cottages around the estate they use, which are far more basic."
According to reports, Kate has a relatively quiet schedule over the coming weeks, which will allow her time to prepare for her upcoming Diamond Jubilee tour with her husband next month. The couple will visit the rain forests of Borneo as well as Malaysia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu during their tour.
Aw we bet Prince Charles is happy that at least one of his sons is enjoying a quiet holiday!
