Billie Piper, 29 who played Doctor Who companion Rose Tyler from 2005 to 2010 could be making a return to the Doctor Who universe in the 50th anniversary celebration according to Matt Smith!
Talking to The Sun, Smith who was recently snapped filming for the Christmas special hinted at Piper possibly making an appearance saying: “If I wanted a companion from the past I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie.”
The 50th anniversary special will be written show collaborator Mark Gatiss and currently has a working title of 'An Adventure in Space and Time'
According to Digital Spy, exec producer Caroline Skinner said: "I just read the first draft of the script this morning and it's such a beautiful character piece," she added "It's something that Mark Gatiss has been wanting to write for the best part of a decade and it's a fabulous story”
Doctor Who will have its 50th anniversary later in 2013, meanwhile Steven Moffat has often talked about seeing a whole host of familiar faces old and new making an appearance.
So will Rose be one of them?
Fans can catch up with Doctor Who's various companions and their life after the Tardis with an online mini series, while Rose was last seen making a new life for herself with a part human part clone version of the Doctor.
“Pond Life” will allow viewers to see what Amy and Rory have been up to since the last series ahead of the new series which starts in September!
