One Direction fans may be up in arms about Zayn Malik's decision to leave Twitter but we're wondering, can anybody blame him?
The singer followed his girlfriend Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and shut down his account this morning after he became 'sick' of the online abuse he had been getting.
The singer, who had over five million followers, wrote: "The reason I don't tweet as much as I use to is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily goodbye twitter :)."
"Fans that have something to say can tweet me on the one direction account."
Earlier this year, Zayn’s girlfriend, Perrie Edwards, also quit her personal account after becoming fed up with nasty comments from jealous One Direction fans.
One Direction's fans have always been known to be obsessed with the lads but it seems any lady connected to the band has been hounded by Directioners.
Harry Styles' ladies Caroline Flack, Caggie Dunlop and Cara Delevingne have all hit out at fans after abusive tweets on the social site.
Burberry model, Delevingne has been spotted out on a string of dates with the 'What Makes You Beautiful' star and as all girls who hook up with One Direction know, that means the wrath of their crazed fans will be upon you.
Taking to Twitter to fight back to some pretty nasty messages, the model wrote: "@lovefor5boysss: sorry to inform you, but you look like a dude :/ #NoHate #TellingTheTruth" hahaha well it seems to have worked well for me.”
It may just be a number of weeks before Directioners lose Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis from Twitter too!
