They may have dismissed the reports that they are more than just friends but the rumour mill over One Direction's Niall Horan and Demi Lovato relationship was sent into to overdrive when Niall referred to Demi as "honey" in a tweet.
Sending his well wishes to Demi who was celebrating her birthday yesterday, the teen heart-throb tweeted the X Factor USA judge:
"Happy birthday honey! Have a lovely day! See ya soon."
Honey? Now that's sweet.
Responding to Niall's tweet - which appears to have been deleted - with an equally sweet message, Demi tweeted back:
"@NiallOfficial thank you sweet stuff :)"
The sweet tweets between Niall and Demi comes after Niall admitted to BANG Showbiz that he would love to romance Demi. He said: "I wish! No there's nothing going on, but she's a lovely girl."
However, Demi ruled out any romance between them, insisting that she and Niall are just friends.
She said in an interview with MuchMusic: "We've actually become really close friends and you know I'm really thankful I have someone who supports me in all aspects. You know, if I need somebody to talk to he's there for me. But no, we're not dating."
