The ladies of Downton Abbey have told Entertainmentwise that there are currently no plans for a movie adaptation of the show.
However, if one were to be made, they wouldn't mind having Meryl Streep and Scarlett Johansson on board.
Explaining the whispers of a silver-screen transfer, Lesley Nicol said: "I don't thionk that's true. I've heard Julian say - don't quote me - he said something along the lines of, 'you get seen talking to some movie producer in Hollywood and people make that connection'.
"Of course Julian is writing several other big projects, so I don't think 'Downton: The Movie' is, at the moment, even vaguely true."
Phyllis Logan added: Well, who would you cast yourself?! Original cast, please!"
Pushed to pick a Hollywood A-lister to play their characters, Nicol named Meryl Streep as her choice, with Amy Nuttall picking Scarlett Johansson.
