'Fifty Shades of Grey' author E.L. James may have begun licensing the rights to make merchandise based on the sexually explicit books, but that hasn't stopped other firms trying to cash in on the 'Fifty Shades' phenomenon.
As there's no copyright on stripping off to your undies and indulging in a bit of naughty behaviour lingerie company Agent Provocateur has got their new front woman, Penelope Cruz's lookalike sister Monica, to strip off in a decidedly 'Fifty Shades' influenced ad.
The ad shows Monica in Victorian times, being photographed, before her inner desires are revealed, and it involves chains, a dungeon like room, and of course, raunchy underwear.
Fans of the 'mummy porn' novels should keep an eye out for all kinds of 'Fifty Shades' related gear, ranging from sportswear, to sex toys, as James' agreement to license her books will no doubt leave firms ready to cash in.
Until then though, you can bet that every ad man this side of Madison Avenue is trying to find a way to work Christian Grey's red room of pain into his sales pitch.
