Lady GaGa comes in for a fair bit of criticism from those who regard her as a bit risque, but even her strongest critics would surely stop short of accusing her of being a Satanist?
Nope, they wouldn't, as Romanian MP and football club owner Gigi Becali proved last week in a tirade against the 'Born This Way' singer that would be a bit offensive if it wasn't so... utterly stark raving bonkers.
Becali, appearing on a Romanian TV station, was joining calls for GaGa's concert in Romania on 16 August to be banned, she played the gig, although felt unwell and threw up on stage.
In an extraordinary outburst, Becali said: "When she comes on the TV I switch the channels after two seconds and spit on the TV.
"We have to understand that there is a war between Satan and Christ at the moment."
Warming to his religious rant he added: "Christ will win. OK we cannot ban her. But nobody forces you to go to Lady Gaga’s concert."
Finally he delivered his ultimate verdict on GaGa: "She is a disciple of Satan. Satan has his disciples and she is one of them. When we see her we have to spit, 'get back Satan', this is what a Christian does. This is what I’m doing."
Becali owns the Steaua Bucharest football team and is one of Romania's richest men, he's also apparently one of its maddest. One thing's for sure, he won't be attending any Born This Way Balls any time soon!
