Teen popstar Conor Maynard, who has been dubbed the UK’s very own Justin Bieber, has defended The Voice after the BBC talent show’s first series came under fire.
The Can’t Say No singing heartthrob, who is 19-years-old and shot to stardom earlier this year, claims he is a fan of the show and even hinted about wanting to become a judge on it himself.
The Brit sensation told the Daily Star: "The Voice was good because it was musicians judging it. With previous pop shows, you'd always hear fans moan, 'They're not musicians, so how can they judge it?'''
''But on The Voice, the judges know what the people auditioning are going through."
And revealing that he wouldn’t mind a taste of talent show judging himself, even though he only has a handful of released singles under his belt, he said: "[Judging] looks like a fun thing to do, so it's part of the plan to eventually try that sort of thing.''
"I wouldn't be deliberately brutal as a judge but I'd certainly be honest."
Since Welsh singing legend Sir Tom Jones and Jessie J are rumoured to have quit the show, do you reckon Conor could be a worthy judging candidate to consider?
